Nina Kopparhed

Nina is an opera singer of the high soprano variety (Lyric coloratura): roles include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro: Mozart), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas: Purcell) and Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflote: Mozart); future roles include Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) Fiordiligi (Cosi fan Tutte) and Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos). Nina also sings for recitals and oratorios: recent work includes a series of very well received recitals with Afton Strings in various music societies in Scotland, singing Schubert songs arranged for soprano and string trio. This is a quote from a review of one of the concerts: "..the quality of the music making was compelling as we were increasingly aware of fusion of subtly changing colours and dynamics of independent parts. And on top of this was your gift of using your voice, facial expressions and discreet body language to convey the changing emotions and moods the songs demanded. The music came alive... Wedding Ceremonies: Nina has several years' experience of singing for wedding ceremonies, either as a soloist, with piano accompaniment or with string trio or quartet, or as a soloist with choir. Her most requested song for religious ceremonies is Schubert: Ave Maria, closely followed by and Panis Angelicus. For non-religious ceremonies, Nina's most requested songs are Puccini: O mio babbino caro and Burns: My love is like a red, red rose. Nina is happy to sing any hymns, either as a soloist in responsorial hymns or just to sing with the congregation to boost their confidence. Nina has an extensive repertoire of songs suitable for ceremonies but also enjoys learning new repertoire so please ask if your favourite piece isn't on her list. Also, Nina is happy to bring her regular accompanist, Mark, with her if no organist is available at the Church. He is also a professional violinist so they can perform music both for voice and violin as well as voice and piano.

Corporate work: Nina has lots of experience singing for corporate functions, product launches, private and charity events, etc. Her most requested songs for these events are Puccini: Nessun Dorma, and Con te partiro/Time to say goodbye. Nina works closely with every client to make sure that the repertoire she performs will match the tone and theme of the event. Previous Corporate clients include Chivas Royal Salute (a series of product launches) and The Royal Burgess Golfing Society, Edinburgh. Nina can perform with backing tracks but can on request bring her accompanist, Mark, who is a professional violinist and pianist: this will enable them to play a wonderful mix of music for voice and violin as well as voice and piano, and for Mark to play a bit of solo piano or solo violin for background music in between key events. Nina loves working with string trios or quartets, so, if you already have the strings booked, she has arrangements of all her repertoire ready to go to perform with them for your event.
