About this Act
David Laing started playing the violin at the age of 8 years old. Since then he has dedicated his life to practicing, playing and performing the violin at the highest level. Studying at the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama and obtaining a Master Degree in Music, he regularly lead the Academy Orchestras and won several prizes for his violin playing.
Since his time at the Academy he has gone on to share the stage with bands and artistes such as Andrea Bocceli, Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys, and Belle and Sebastian. This has involved tours of the UK, and festivals such as T in the park and Primavera Sound in Barcelona. His playing is in high demand and he is regularly asked to perform at venues around Scotland, the UK, and the French Riviera.
He started playing at weddings at the age of 16 and has over 25 years experience in this industry. He is very personable and reliable, and realises the importance of such a big day. Although classically trained, he can play many styles including jazz, Scottish traditional, and he also specialises in pop and rock cover versions which can create the perfect backdrop for your big day.
