Los Chichanos

Los Chichanos bring to you the most infectious and hugely danceable Latin music perfomed live! Cumbia, Salsa and Rumba rhythms mixed with Classic Psychedelic Rock, Surf Music and Electric Blues. Featuring a rich Latin percussion section, call and response vocals, energetic guitar solos and indigenous melodies from the Andes Mountains and the Amazon rainforest, the band revives the vintage Peruvian music known as Chicha. This genre of music has experienced a worldwide boom recently and now is recognised in global nightclubs and music circles for its tropical fiesta-driving energy.

Just as the Peruvian Cumbia bands did back in the '60s & '70s, Los Chichanos mix traditional music with electric guitar and groovy organ into an upbeat tropical-flavoured Latin soundtrack of chicha hits and rarities. Experimental guitar-driven songs, '60s organ sounds and syncopated Latin rhythms played on authentic percussion instruments all contribute in giving the style a unique sound and look, with the talented group wearing memorable and stylish vintage uniforms. Los Chichanos are perfect for dancing to but at the same time their show is able to be happily appreciated whilst seated.

The band has members from Brazil, USA, Australia and the UK and formed in Scotland in 2021. Since then, their shows regularly reach capacity and word has got out across the UK about their unique Jungle Latin Fiesta performances.
