Glasgow Women’s 10K run 2012

Freak Music are proud to have helped organise the musical entertainment for the annual Glasgow Life women’s 10K on Sunday the 13th.

The event route will be topped and tailed by Freak’s own Clanadonia plus another 8 acts plus 8 solo bagpipers will be performing along the route.

In no particular order, the acts you’ll see/hear will be:

The 8 pipers sourced by this fine chap, the Caledonian Cowboy , a superb acoustic duo from the city called, er, the  City Duo, and Rapido Mariachi, who’ll hopefully bring some Mexican weather with them. For more sedate background running music, the Cairn String Quartet will be camped up under a gazebo just over a kilometre in, however if you prefer something a little more trad, the wonderfully named Jim Jam Ceilidh band will be tradding it up just a bit before the quartet.

For the fans of noisy bands we give you brass mentalists Get Tae Funk, Gypsy/Samba/drum mentalists, Puff Uproar and the Shimmering Sound affair and another familiar drum and pipe act, Clan Wallace completes the set.

All the best to all taking part, playing or just spectating from all at Freak Music.
