We continue to recruit UK wide for our ever growing roster of live wedding acts for hire through Freak Music. There’s more than one type of act available naturally, and here’s a few of the recent additions:
Forming in 2009 while studying on Leeds College of Music’s prestigious jazz degree, Three Shades of Jazz (above) is an accomplished trio featuring Vocals, guitar and double bass. As a trio they have played all over the country, catering for weddings and parties receiving high acclaim from audiences and peers. As individuals, they have performed at distinguished venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Zeffirelli’s, Seven Arts Centre and many Jazz festivals across the country. They have also been playing to packed out venues for many years, including and audience with her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. They have a colossal repertoire of standards and not so standard such as All of you, All of me to Walk on by and You taught my heart to sing.
Voodoo Logic are an established six-piece function band with a reputation as one of the most popular live bands on the South Coast. They have a varied repertoire the band play a wide range of music covering songs from the 1960’s to the present day including songs from U2, Adele, Bon Jovi, Kings of Leon, Stereophonics, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Queen, Katy Perry, Free & Elton John to mention but a few! High quality sound and lighting equipment ensure the band is ideally suited for playing weddings, corporate functions and parties. Voodoo Logic are very experienced in playing all types of venues, including hotels and marquees. Gotta do marquees.
Articulate Strings (below) are a vivacious, young and talented group of musicians, who pride themselves on their professionalism and exceptional musical excellence. The quartet members are all scholars of either the Royal College of Music or the Royal Academy. They perform in many capacities; for concerts, recordings and background functions and are available to hire as a Duo, Trio and Quartet. Articulate Strings have given recitals at numerous prestigious London venues, including St James Piccadilly, St Martin in the Fields and the National Gallery. In addition, they have recorded for many film composers and have been used to create a documentary soundtrack for Channel 4. The group has also enjoyed television appearances on BBC 1, More4 and the History Channel.
The Sixties Gems are an amazing live group that will take you back in time to the heart of the swinging sixties. Performing bubblegum pop from artists such as Lulu, Dusty Springfield and Sandy Shaw with a healthy helping from Motown Classics like The Supremes, The Temptations and Martha Reeves plus many sixties staples that have been covered and recovered in the following decades. The dancefloor is guaranteed to be bouncing on your special occasion. The band complete the authentic sixties atmosphere by dressing in razor sharp sixties fashions and creating the sound by using original sixties instruments, although there is nothing vintage about the group members which consist of professional experienced musicians that have played at numerous functions including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, sixties weekends, cruise ships, TV & radio.
