Athens are an exciting and versatile live band who inject fun and great music into any event, they are the ideal choice for wedding receptions, corporate events, charity functions and private parties. Formed over 10 years ago by 4 exceptional musicians the band are highly experienced and have played a wide range of functions performing at venues such as the EICC, Corn Exchange, Assembly Rooms and Caledonian and Sheraton hotels, they also play regularly at the Jam House in Edinburgh. Previous clients include Standard Life, Ikea, City of Edinburgh Council and Hibernian FC. Comprised of the classic line-up of two guitars, bass and drums, each member of the band sings and their outstanding 3 part harmonies add a distinctive sound to their repertoire in a way few other bands can match. Their ever expanding set includes rock and pop classics from the 60’s to present day packed with guaranteed floor fillers and sing along favourites, whatever the song their attention to detail is outstanding with a varied repertoire to suit all ages and tastes.
Fiore are a 6 piece live wedding/function band based in Glasgow covering music from the sixties right up to present day chart hits. The band features keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and fantastic male and female vocals from Stephen & Lisa. Fiore are one of the freshest bands that you’ll find performing in Glasgow, Edinburgh and throughout Scotland. Fiore can adapt to any size of venue or reception hall, including working with hotel sound limiters. Fiore have top of the range equipment including electronic drums allowing the volume to be kept to a minimum while producing a quality sound keeping the volume to a level were people can talk while the band is playing. It is important to Fiore that every effort is made to ensure that their time with you is special so Fiore also make sure that breaks for the band fall at the most appropriate times i.e when the evening buffet is being served for instance. During Band breaks Fiore can play a wide selection of pre- mixed Party/disco music making sure continuous music is guaranteed!
The Banjo Lounge (right) do innovative funky bluegrass and swing mash-up versions of songs to suit all ages from Louis Prima’s ‘Just a Gigolo‘, Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Dont Stop Til You Get Enough’ to Beyonce’s ‘Crazy in Love’ and Dizzee Rascal / Calvin Harris’s ‘Dance Wiv Me’. Also thrown in there are a bunch of other classics they have tinkered with to make their own including New Order’s ‘Blue Monday’, a blistering version of Blur’s ‘Song 2’ and Punjabi MC’s Knightrider re-mix of ‘Mundian to Bach Ke’. With a lineup of banjo, guitar, double bass, drums and 3 part harmonies, over the last few years private clients and festival-goers alike have been dancing to their brand new brand of acoustic mash-ups!
Funktion Sweet (below) are a five-piece band of experienced musicians, featuring the stunning voice of Scottish vocalist, Ruth Macewan. Based in West Lothian, Scotland, the band consist of piano/keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums, with additional male lead and backing vocals, Funktion Sweet perform with all the energy, feeling and levels of musicianship which combine to provide the best possible live music for your special occasion. Funktion Sweet are a band who play because they love playing together and whose obvious love of music always ensures a pile of discarded high-heels and a worn-out dance floor! The versatility and musicianship of Funktion Sweet has proven to be a big hit time and again, with many clients and guests amazed by Funktion Sweet’s ability to perform delicate, soulful renditions of all the classic songs such as ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘Songbird‘, followed by energy-packed dance-floor fillers like ’River Deep, Mountain High’, ’Valerie’ and ’Car Wash’. Funktion Sweet can also offer a little bit more musical pleasure for your special day, with many clients requesting Ruth’s solo vocal recitals during their wedding ceremony, or acoustic versions of songs from such artists as Norah Jones and Carole King for a relaxing afternoon musical backdrop.
