One Night Stand

Here’s a few older acts and some newer to the roster in our selection of live wedding acts in Scotland.

One Night Stand (above) represent everything you would look for now in a great function band. They are young and contemporary, musically excellent, have great personalities, play a huge and eclectic range of party tunes and work with modern PA and lighting equipment. They are based in Ayrshire and have quickly gained a reputation throughout central Scotland as the go to band for weddings and events. The boys are friendly and accommodating and are real pros. We love them, and we think you will too.

Edinburgh based act Scope are a trio of young passionate musicians, all virtuosos on their respective instruments, they have been performing live as a band for almost 10 years, you will not come across a tighter outfit! Performing a range of classic rock hits, a sprinkling of modern rock tunes, and the occasional curved ball cover, these guys are not to be missed, and look out for them in the Edinburgh Jam House next year.

For a slightly rockier and retro option, check out Petra and the PT Cruisers This band are a rockabilly/rock and roll band with a vast repertoire of popular classics and lesser known gems. The majority of songs are original 50s rockabilly or rock and roll numbers such as – Jailhouse Rock, Long Tall Sally, Hound Dog, Roll Over Beethoven, Blue Moon of Kentucky, Jump The Broomstick etc but they also incorporate songs by lesser known artists such as Janis Martin (Drugstore Rock, My Boy Elvis), Muddy Waters (I Just Wanna Make Love to you) for the die hard fans. As well as these classics songs they incorporate some modern rockabilly songs from Imelda May and The Stray Cats. Although these are not original 50’s songs, they are very much rock and roll/rockabilly tunes and will not fail to get you up on the dance floor in your best swing skirt!

Republic Of Soul (below) burst energetically onto the scene five years ago when a group of musically minded Glasgow businessmen were persuaded to get up on stage and play at some corporate and charity events in some of the city’s top venues. They were so entertaining that people started to invite them to play at weddings, parties and prestigious events such as CashForKids. A 3-piece horn section was added which made the ensemble an 8-piece, which it remains to this day. Entertainment and a good boogie is what this band is all about. They are all superb musicians and rehearse (and play) hard to make sure every performance is special. The band have a varied repertoire of 60s soul, 70s funk, and pop and rock from the 80s, 90s and noughties. Classics by Sam & Dave, James Brown, Ike & Tina Turner, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse guarantee a full dancefloor and a growing list of satisfied customers, they’ll be performing at the Edinburgh Jam House on the 14th December if you’d like to check them out.
