As the wedding season winds down for another  year, next summer is starting to look good, here’s a few of our high energy live wedding bands for hire in Scotland through Freak Music.

Whether you like to boogie to some vintage 60s tunes, disco to 70s funk and soul, slow dance to some 80’s slush, or club it like you’re back in the 90s and 00s, Classic Noir  (above) are the band for your event, and can call on a host of songs from the last half century to suit any occasion. Formed in mid-2011 with a desire to break from the norm and create a function band with a real difference; Pete, Paul, and Gav decided to put together a quality show which encompassed all their favourite tracks and artists. The goal was to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary acts whilst providing a set of songs including some well-known standards but also a few special tracks which would make people go “Wow! I haven’t heard that one in years!” Thus Classic Noir was born. Have a look at their profile and their all new spangly video (up to the right on the page) and see them in action.

Xpression have been regularly performing now since 1992 and their professional approach to every function means they are a great choice for everything from weddings, parties and dances to affordable corporate entertainment. They pride themselves in providing clients with a fantastic visual and audio show that would put most bands to shame and play a selection of songs which will keep your guests dancing all night. Featuring both female and male vocals their extensive repertoire covers hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the 00’s, with a few Ceilidh tunes also thrown in for good measure!

Corra (right) started life as a Celtic band in 2004 and over the years have evolved into an all encompassing ensemble playing a wide repertoire of soul, funk, rock n roll, disco and contemporary pop tunes without losing their traditional Celtic/Ceilidh roots. This hugely talented band is comprised of some of the countries’ best musicians and vocal performers and can seamlessly switch between all of the above genres keeping your guests on their toes as well as their feet… Corra also deliver a very personal service which aims to satisfy the individual needs of clients. Nothing is carved in stone and they don’t believe in set-lists, and are well versed in reading the crowd on the night which keeps things fun, interesting and above all, different every time.

Republic Of Soul burst energetically onto the scene five years ago when a group of musically minded Glasgow businessmen were persuaded to get up on stage and play at some corporate and charity events in some of the city’s top venues. They were so entertaining that people started to invite them to play at weddings, parties and prestigious events such as CashForKids. A 3-piece horn section was added which made the ensemble an 8-piece, which it remains to this day. Entertainment and a good boogie is what this band is all about. They are all superb musicians and rehearse (and play) hard to make sure every performance is special. The band have a varied repertoire of 60s soul, 70s funk, and pop and rock from the 80s, 90s and noughties. Classics by Sam & Dave, James Bown, Ike & Tina Turner, David Bowie and Amy Winehouse guarantee a full dancefloor and a growing list of satisfied customers.
