The Sorries are based in Edinburgh and regularly play around Scotland; from Scottish Border towns and villages to Perthshire, Fife, Moray and the Highlands and Islands.
The Sorries are Douglas Kay (vocals, guitar, bodhran, mandolin) and Martin Philip (vocals, guitar, bodhran, concertina). The duo sing, play and banter their way through a show inspired by the music of The Corries; performing a selection of tunes from that much-loved songbook as well as a few satirical comedy songs which cast a sardonic eye on the political and public life of present-day Scotland.
The pair have toured widely and have played a number of prestigious events which include post-match shows at Murrayfield Stadium, the Dunhill Cup press launch in St. Andrews and many other performances for organisations including the RT Burns Club, the University of Edinburgh and the Sir Walter Scott Club.
August 2013 sees The Sorries return for their 5th consecutive run at the Edinburgh Festival after a hugely successful 2012 Fringe saw them play 21 shows in as many days to sell out crowds . Coinciding with the release of their third album, the shows also earned the duo a host of 5 star reviews in the press.
Experienced musicians in their own right, both Douglas and Martin have toured extensively worldwide and have appeared alongside acts such as KT Tunstall, Billy Bragg and Amy MacDonald.
