The act is based in Truro in Cornwall and happy to travel for events.
Lost in Space play a madcap mix of funky ska, retro grooves and gypsy stomp. They have a main female vocalist, but also two other male vocalists/backing vocalists, so a good punchy vocal team with harmonies and variety of vocal styles. The band includes several multi-instrumentalists, so anything up to fifteen instruments may be covered during the show, though not usually all at the same time.
They have their own sound, aiming not at tribute or pure cover, but to 'bring their own sound into the party mix, covering both 'Spaced standards and a few of their original songs. The set is eclectic, all songs picked for up-beat driving rhythm and wide appeal, ranging from Ska to Klezmer , Gogol Bordello to Bruno Mars.
The band do not strive to fit in a marketing bracket for maximum revenue, but do it largely for the crack and the range of interesting music and interesting people that it attracts. So you won't find them under '70s tribute bands' or '80's ska'. Where you will find them is playing a blinding set of interesting upbeat music to get everyone on their feet, make a great party and a night to remember.
