About
Bigtime are a 4-10 piece band fronted by Dave Dudgeon, a veteran of many well known function bands. Dave's distinctive vocals have been enjoyed by many wedding parties and functions throughout the UK.
They perform a wide cross section of music from 60's through to contemporary hits including soul, funk, pop, disco, rock, ballads, country and blues. They specialise in tailoring their set to the clients taste and requirements.
They also offer a ceilidh option with the addition of a fiddle or accordion to the line up. All ceilidh dances are called by the band to ensure that every event goes with a swing.
A bigger band option can be made available with the addition of female vocals, keyboards and brass, if required.
Bigtime also offer an acoustic solo, duo or trio act for smaller, more intimate events.
Testimonials...
"BigTime were an excellent choice for our wedding band. We chose some songs and they built our play list around the kind of music we wanted to hear at our wedding, which we thought brought a personal element to our evening reception. The dance floor was full the whole night & the atmosphere was amazing. Dave kept in touch right from when we booked the band and kept us updated on how things were going, this personal touch from Dave reassured us that everything was under control and would all go to plan. BigTime did all the personal touches that we asked them for, which made our day even more special; learning songs for us, playing sailor themed songs for us, (as the groom is a sailor) and this gave a quirky fun factor to the reception. Our south of the border guests loved the ceilidh music and dancing.
Thanks for everything"!

"We just want to thank BigTime for giving us the best entertainment we could have asked for at our Wedding. Our guests kept coming up to us all evening to say just how much they were enjoying the band and since the Wedding, we've had more contacting us to say the same. The floor was full the whole time, right from the first dance onwards and even those members of the family who would never usually set foot on a dance floor were "up for it"! This can all be attributed to the great music and vibe the band created. They even went out of their way to learn an obscure Thunder song
which we wanted as our first dance (and it wasn't easy as the original is a near 7 minute piece which they needed to rearrange for us!) Dave kept in touch in the months leading up to the day to let us know how it was going (and to keep us sane and unworried!)
We'll definitely be recommending them to everyone we know who needs a great band...and so will all our guests!
Thanks again to the whole band'.

"Thank you so much to BigTime from my husband and I as well as my parents and the rest of our family. We had the most amazing evening for our wedding due in large part to the band. BigTime were fantastic at gauging the crowd mood and played exactly the right songs at the right time and always keeping the energy and atmosphere going. My family came from Algeria and my husbands family came from Argentina and they are all still talking about the band and the music! Even more impressive was that they managed to get people 'dancing' the Gay Gordons who barely spoke English to begin with. We will certainly be contacting BigTime again for any future events. Once again, thank you very much indeed".

"A great big thank you to BigTime from myself and Roy.
I’ve lost count of the amount of people who have commented on how great the music was at our wedding. The dance floor was packed all evening which made it a fantastic atmosphere. The band also took the time to learn our first dance song which also went down amazingly well. Rest assured if anyone asks us about a band for a wedding or party BigTime will be the first name on our lips".

"A big thank you to Bigtime for being the band at our wedding, Kat and I had a fantastic day and you did a superb job at keeping everyone right with the dance moves! Many of our guests have also commented on how great they thought you were which was fantastic to hear.
We're particularly thankful for your advice prior to the day regarding timings, we did bring events forward by half an hour from our original plans and are pleased we did.
Cameron, the piper, was also excellent, he arrived on time and was very accommodating with all our requests. It all helped to reduce the stress and let us enjoy the day.
Many thanks once again".

"BigTime were absolutely fantastic at our wedding.
Several guests commented on never having seen such a busy dance floor at an event! Dave and the band created a personalised play list which more than satisfied our specific music preferences and kept our guests smiling. We can't thank you enough for your energetic and enthusiastic performance on our special day. We are chuffed that we booked you guys, it was definitely the right decision and we would recommend you to anyone. You took a lot of care to match what you played to what we said we were looking for and kept the energy up and the crowd happy throughout the evening. A lot of folks came to us and said the band was great. We agree"!

"From the word go you were proactive in getting in touch on a regular basis to discuss the format of the evening.
This gave us a lot of confidence in this important aspect of our wedding and as soon as we chose BigTime we didn't have to worry about this, allowing us to focus on all the stressful stuff. Your advice throughout the months and weeks leading up to the wedding was excellent and reassuring. On the night, the setting up of your kit was seamless, so much so, that by the time we had finished our wedding breakfast your were set up and ready to go. Once the first dance was out the way you seemed to have a special knack of working out when to call the Ceilidh songs. With guests travelling from all Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, France, Germany and Tunisia I can tell you these went down an absolute treat and credit should also be given to the rest of your band and the excellent Katherine on the fiddle. The memories of all the folk having a go at the Ceilidh will live with us and the rest of the guests forever. Lastly but not least you and your band were excellent at covering all the tracks we requested from Frank Sinatra to the Killers.
There is something special about a live band playing at a wedding and we are still getting comments from folk about how good the band were. My only complaint on the night was that it all seemed to be over in a flash which considering you played from eight o clock until midnight says it all".

"Searching for a good band to entertain your closest friends and family (for one of the biggest events in your life!) can be more than a little scary! Paul and I were also a little nervous about booking a Ceilidh, as around half of our wedding guests had travelled from England and overseas to celebrate with us, so we were not sure how well it would go down with those guests who had never experienced Scottish dancing, let alone grown up with it. We toyed with the idea of the Ceilidh, with a band set only, with band set and a little disco / iPod list thrown in, and after much deliberation we chose to have all three and also opted to have a female vocalist sing with the band too.
I am delighted to say that BigTime were outstanding, the vocals and musical talent were spot-on and the Ceilidh went down a storm, 10 out of 10 and a big gold star! It is not enough to simply praise the band for their first class entertainment on the night. The planning and preparation stage was a breeze and Dave went above and beyond to make sure that our highly individual, not to mention challenging, song requirements were satisfied.
As a Global Events Manager, I know that attention to detail, supportive and communicative suppliers, and precision planning is key to the success of any large-scale event and it is probably no great surprise that our wedding was my favourite event-planning project of all time. I was in my element as many of our friends and family commented that our wedding was among the best they'd been to, and much of their praise was directly in relation to the band and Ceilidh. I would not hesitate in recommending BigTime to anyone who has an event or wedding requiring lively entertainment. There was barely a bottom on a seat during the course of the evening and the vocalists did a fabulous job of getting everyone up and dancing during the band set and the Ceilidh! It was a joy to watch everyone having such a great time, something I will cherish warmly for the rest of my life.
Look no further. Book BigTime. You'll not regret it".

"Big thank you to BigTime from myself and Sara.
We thought you did a great job on the night and one thing that many of our guests commented on, was how good the band was. The dance floor was busy for almost every song. We knew the crowd who were coming were all up for a good time and you helped in sealing that. You have been professional throughout the whole process and would recommend you to anyone who was getting married"

"If you are thinking of hiring a band for your wedding and you come across Big Time look no further!
We got married at The Vu Bathgate,August 20th 2011 and the band kept the dance floor full all night.
From the first time we contacted Dave until the last he couldn't have been more helpful.
The playlist covers all sorts of music and everyone at the wedding commented on how good the band were, including the staff!
We went to watch them twice playing in Edinburgh and knew straight away they were the band for us.
Superb"!

"I booked BigTime for my 50th birthday party after hearing them on a website and they lived up to and in fact exceeded my expectation. From the initial booking enquiry onwards, Dave was very helpful with advice and organisation and made it all so easy.
Thanks to BigTime's ability to gauge what music the guests are responding to, everyone danced the night away, including my 84 year old dad who never sat down all night, whether it was Strip the Willow or the Kings of Leon!
Since the party we have had lots of feedback about what a great night it was and how wonderful the band was. I couldn't agree more and will definitely be recommending them in the future. Thanks for making my party special".

"John and I just wanted to email you all to say a massive thank you for playing at our wedding at Gleddoch house in July. We honestly cannot thank you enough for your fantastic service and amazing talent. We had an absolute ball on that dance floor as did all of our guests. I don't think there was an inch of that sparkly dance floor free all night! It was packed from the first dance up to the last, which is always one of the things any bride is anxious about I am sure. Since the big day we have had so many compliments of the day and in particular how great you were in both your talent and the variety of music you played. We found you very professional to work with and very easy to talk to, helping us through the song choices and putting us at ease throughout the wedding. We honestly cannot thank you enough and we will be sure to recommend you to all our friends.
Thank you again and good luck in the future".

"We booked BigTime after seeing some videos of them perform... these videos definitely DO NOT do the band justice! From the first note of the first song up till the last beat of the final number they were amazing.
Having the Ceilildh songs through the set list was great and allowed our sassenach guests to have a great scottish experience. Dave was great to chat to before the wedding and gave excellent advice on song choices. The communication prior to our wedding was fist rate.
Thanks Dave and thanks BigTime for helping make our day fantastic"!

"Wow! As Tina Turner would say...'Simply The Best'!!! If you are looking for a band to keep the dance floor full all night then look no further. Our wedding finished at 1am and the dance floor was still packed with everyone wanting BigTime to play on. Dave and his band looked after everything from the moment we booked and nothing was too much trouble at all. Everyone who was at our wedding has since commented how great the band were and I am sure that we will be attending a few friends future weddings with BigTime as the band! The ceilidh music was so upbeat and made for some great photos. If you are looking for a band that can get your guests aged seven to seventy all up dancing at once then this is the band"!

"BigTime were amazing!!! They kept the party going right up until the end of the night. They are not the typical cheesy wedding band, as they were original but yet catered to everybody's needs; even the grandparents were up dancing to Whisky in the Jar! We both enjoyed ourselves so much and I think that had a lot to do with the way that BigTime performed and managed our guests to make sure everybody was having a great time. All we can say is a massive thanks to all the band for such an entertaining and slick performance".

"We had 3 things we wanted for our wedding day right from the start. Our friends and family to share our day, good food and a great night. We had almost everyone we wanted there, the food was lovely and the night was amazing, thanks to BigTime. Right from the first enquiry Dave gave us his advice and we are so glad we took it, everyone (including a stranger from outside the venue) said they were great and the dance floor was always packed. Thank you so much guys, we would definitely recommend you to anyone who is looking for an events band.
Thank you and we hope we can recommend you in the near future, it was an amazing night".
PS:- Thanks for talking us into the Scottish music, it was definitely worth it!

"My wife and I wish to thank you and the band for the amazing performance that put on at our wedding in June 2011. You didn't fail to impress and the choice of music which we asked you to play was absolutely brilliant. We asked if you could sing the first dance, which the band had never attempted before and needless to say, you guys pulled it off brilliantly. The Ceilidh dancing was great fun and you really motivated all those who were there! I strongly recommend the band to anyone who wants a friendly, approachable and great sounding band regardless of what the event or occasion may be. We cant praise BigTime enough for making our day a magical and unforgettable experience. Thanks again".

"We'd like to say a massive thank you to BigTime for all your help and advice and of course for making our evening a brilliant one. From our initial enquiry right through to the actual night Dave was excellent and kept in regular contact with us. He also gave us a lot of advice and help with things that we hadn't even thought of! The band learnt our first dance song and even learnt a song at the last minute for a father daughter dance which meant a lot. They were fantastic and had everyone up on the dance floor. Led Zeppelin went down especially well"!

"You know that your wedding band have been a huge success when all your friends comment that when they get married they hope that they have a band half as good and all your parents friends want them to do the next hunt ball! I have never known a band before that can get the whole wedding party up on the dance floor, including the grandparents and then switch effortlessly in to ceilidh and retain their sense of humour whilst trying to teach a bunch of english people to ceilidh dance! I can honestly say that the only time we came off the dance floor was when the band had their break.
The female singer, the caller and the ceilidh player were fabulous and well worth the extra money.
I can not recommend BigTime enough".

"Thank you BigTime, we had such an amazing day and really enjoyed the evening reception. Everyone loved the music and quite a few people have asked us to pass on to you their compliments. People have commented that as a group you were laid back and friendly whilst very professional and were very impressed with the quality of the music.
It was also really nice to see you hang around a bit once you finished. The variety of music was great for people from all different tastes and ages and we really enjoyed seeing everyone getting up dancing all night. When we started arranging the wedding we both agreed that we wanted a good band and felt that it is an important part in shaping the mood of the evening reception. In that respect we want to say a big thank you for helping to make the wedding such a great day for us and all of our guests. We will definitely make sure to spread the word to our friends.
Also want to thank you for all your help in the arrangements for the wedding. As the first one to be married, amongst my family and close friends I was pretty clueless but you were really helpful and your advice was just what we needed.
Many thanks, to yourself and the rest of the band".

"First of all a HUGE thank you to you and the guys for giving us such a fantastic night at the wedding. Everyone was raving about what a great job BigTime did and you provided an excellent evening. To start the night off with the Black Eyed Peas following on from our singing waiters was a stroke of genius and got everyone in the party mood. Everyone was impressed at how well you did that song as it’s a difficult song to cover, but you did it brilliantly! Looking back at the photos we seemed to be on our feet all night and there’s some interesting dance moves going on that I’m dying to know what songs they were to, hopefully the video will recall that for us when we get it.
Many thanks again, we’ll definitely recommend you to friends and family for future weddings and hopefully we’ll find an excuse to book you again ourselves one day".

" We were delighted with the band and so were the rest of the wedding party, they are still raving about the wedding and indeed the band, which is always nice to hear.
Jenna and and I were at a 70's night last Friday and some of the crowd that attended our wedding were there and the comments we got in relation to the wedding and the choice of band were magnificent.
There were a good few people at the wedding that are really into their music and in some respects pretty hard to impress as they have been to many weddings and seen many bands, but BigTime certainly pulled it off...
You as a singer and the musician's timing was brilliant and others who play the guitar, who attended the wedding, commented on how good the guitar action was!
I must admit I would love to hire you boys again but am skint now, so hopefully the next wedding I attend you may be there, as I would certainly recommend BigTime.
It was also a great pleasure in singing with you boys and I lapped up the good comments I got.
Thanks"
