About this Act

Made up of four full time professional musicians, a violinist, an accordion player, a pianist and a double bass player, The Scottish Tango Ensemble formed in 2009. Their programme comprises numerous styles of tangos from the its birth in the 1890s until the present day as well as well as other Latin American dances such as the Mambo and Bossa Nova. They perform the music of Astor Piazzolla, Kurt Weill, the great tango masters such as Pedro Lorenz, Haracio Salgan and Edgardo Donato as well as the ensemble’s own arrangements of more modern tango artists such as Gotan Project.
