About
The Sorries are Douglas Kay (vocals, guitar, bodhran, mandolin) and Martin Philip (vocals, guitar, bodhran, concertina). The duo sing, play and banter their way through a show inspired by the music of The Corries; performing a selection of tunes from that much-loved songbook as well as a few satirical comedy songs which cast a sardonic eye on the political and public life of present-day Scotland.
Experienced musicians in their own right, both Douglas and Martin have toured extensively worldwide and have appeared alongside acts such as KT Tunstall, Billy Bragg and Amy MacDonald.
As The Sorries, the pair have toured widely around Scotland and in August 2010 they returned to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for a three-week run at "Diverse Attractions". This series of shows once more saw the lads play to packed crowds who revelled in the opportunity to hear some of Scotland's best-loved songs presented in the duo format.
Where are they based?
The Sorries are based in Edinburgh and regularly play around Scotland; from Scottish Border towns and villages to Perthshire, Fife, Moray and the Highlands and Islands.
