Consisting of one lead vocalist (and caller), two backing vocalists, lead guitar, bass, drums, keyboard and fiddle Corra pride themselves in providing a great selection of instruments to offer the very best in entertainment.
Corra pride themselves in providing a personal & professional service of a very high standard of quality and musicianship. This combined with their versatility & flexibility, a high energy performance every time and an impressive list of over 200 songs are a few reason why Corra have proved time and time again that they are at the top of their field.
The music is varied. They can do a 30 minute set of ceilidh and traditional Scottish country dances. There are a few old favourites that no party would be the same without; Candi Staton's Young Hearts, Stevie Wonder's Superstition, Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl, Dolly Parton's 9–5 and Katrina & The Waves' Walking On Sunshine to name a few. There is a selection of more down beat jazz/swing numbers for earlier on in the evening, Ella's My Baby Just Cares For Me, Frank's I Got You Under My Skin or Come Fly With Me. There are some down right classics that we defy you not to dance to; Rocks by Primal Scream, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, Lady Marmalade by Labelle, Groove Is In The Heart by Dee-Lite & the song we hate to love; 500 Miles by The Proclaimers.
Contemporary numbers such as Valerie as covered by Amy Winehouse & Mark Ronson, Don’t Feel Like Dancing by the Scissor Sisters and Same Jeans by The View make sure that the band are keeping up-to-date with new music and again, keeping it fresh for the band and the audience.
The band have no set formula, preferring instead to play to each individual crowd on the night, keeping things interesting and different every time. All music during you’re event is live with no pre-recorded music to hide behind. All 5 members are also full time musicians who dedicated their time to making sure that each event is a roaring success.
Front person Jayne Seawright has almost ten years experience of performing for an impressive list of clients in and out of the UK and is extremely skilled at structuring an evening according to the needs of the individual client – there are a selection of packages available.
