The band are based between Glasgow , Oban and Ireland and play all round the country. They are happy to venture South whenever required.

About this Act

The Absurdist Pipe Band take pipes, drums and costumes and mix them with a dash of clowning to create an energetic package that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. On the streets of your town, in the fields of your festival or in the middle of your dance floor, The Absurdist Pipe Band love nothing more than wandering around and entertaining the crowds. They are durable and hard working!

An engaging blend of visual humour, bagpipes, drums, percussion and sound effects , this three to six piece band is vibrant, crowd pleasing and entertaining. They play up close and personal, spontaneously tailoring tunes for the moment. Mobile, charmingly mischievous agents of chaos,

Playing anything from TV themes to 40's swing, from pop hits to classical motifs and traditional tunes, they are guaranteed to surprise and bring a smile and a laugh.

The band consists of highly experienced musicians who have over 20 years experience playing folk, jazz, samba, punk and street music at festivals, gigs, parties, carnivals, parades and concerts all over the country.
