The Nipples of Venus are based in Edinburgh and ready and willing to travel for your event.
Welcome to the profile, the preposterous, exquisite, delectable cartel of virtuosity and force of nature that is the Nipples of Venus.
These guy are a high energy dance band that play 'Spiced up Funk/Salsa and Ska' instrumental arrangements of 1990's party Trance/Dance classics, adding cheeky live samples as a social commentary. The infectious eight piece band lights the touch paper on stage whilst the audience laps up their energy, converting it into 'dancing times!'
Back in the early summer of 2015, Nipples of Venus started making a name for themselves playing some great shows in and around Edinburgh's Fringe Festival, along with warming up for legendary punk band 'The Rezillos' at the 2015 Halloween Ball at Summerhall, Edinburgh, organised by Vision Events.
The Nips have a residency at Stramash on Edinburgh's notorious Cowgate, where you can see them wowing the crowds and are a firm favourite of both the regulars and the staff there. They whipped the packedcrowd at the Edinburgh Meadows Festival of 2016 into a "frothing frenzy", and more recently gained an army of fresh fans when they opened the main stage at Kelburn Garden Party Festival 2016.
The Nipples of Venus have managed to establish a loyal following along with a reputation of being one of Edinburgh's top party/dance bands. As a non-pretentious party band, Nipples of Venus have been been put together with one thing in mind, to make people dance their socks off!
Nipples of Venus has a motto, it's always Saturday night on their watch. Fronted by Phil Hopwood, the band will take you back to the dance tracks of the early 90s. The band's signature is loveable classics as interpreted through the medium of ska, funk and salsa. You've not lived until you've heard their version of Ace of Base's All That She Wants or Corona's Rhythm of the Night - it's incredibly catchy.
Are you ready to dance like it's 1995 again? Get your glow sticks ready!
And don't just take Freak Music's word for it:
Hey Phil and the rest of the Nipples of Venus,
Just a quick note to thank you so much for such an incredible set again this year at Masquerade - the event just wouldn't be the same without you and everyone really loved it! Hope you all had fun, and let me know if there's anything I can do for you. Hopefully see you next year?

I just wanted to say thank you again for being awesome at our wedding reception. I know you don't normally do weddings (at least as the Nips) but you were absolutely perfect and I've lost count of the number of people that have told me how much they enjoyed listening to you. I myself had so many moments where I had to just stop and appreciate what you were doing. Also I danced and I never dance in public.
Thanks also for buying my dad a pint and being totally amazing with Conor (The wee dancer at the front).
You guys were perfect. Completely perfect.

Nipples of Venus were a serious joy to work with from start to finish. Phil was always quick to respond and continually accommodating. Though they came well reviewed, we had no idea what we were truly in store for until they took to the stage, epically dressed and full of energy. Their talent and cheeky charm really made the night; the set list was perfect and they read the audience to give them exactly what they were looking for! Comments on the night and ever since have been enthused renditions of "that band though" and "seriously, that band though" and we couldn't have asked for anyone better to make the night such a roaring success.
Thank you, Nipples of Venus!!
