The Sparrows of Paris perform vintage french chansons, gypsy jazz and the authentic french jazz musette of the 1930s.
Headed by Parisian chanteuse Carolyn Saint-Pe, The Sparrows of Paris continue the tradition of the bals musette, the popular social dances of the 1930s and 40s which now have a revival amongst Francophone and Francophiles around the world with dances such as javas, valses musette, tangos and foxtrots. This repertoire is particularly suited to outdoor events, festivals, parties and weddings. The line up is vocals, accordion, guitar and double bass.
Carolyn and her musicians also perform vintage french chansons, gypsy jazz and jazz standards. This repertoire contains the songs of Edith Piaf, Frehel, Mistinguett, Arletty and Charles Trenet as well as all the great gypsy jazz tunes of Django Reinhardt. This repertoire is suited to more intimate venues or corporate events. For a more sophisticated sound of French lounge music The Sparrows of Paris perform with or without accordion or clarinet.
The Sparrows of Paris can also perform as a duo with vocals and accordion for private events.
