We’re not quite in the Gareth Bale stakes, but we’ve been fairly busy on the recruitment front over the last few months, we’re at the fortunate stage of having bands contact us having heard good things so we’re doing something right. Here’s a by no means extensive list of the pick of the summer signings:

(above) They guarantee that their unique jive and dixieland twists on pop tunes will be like nothing you have ever heard before. LindyPop! are an exciting and original six-piece band based in Leeds. Steeped in tradition, the band brings jazz into the 21st century with exclusive arrangements of current chart music and your favourite classics. They are a well-rehearsed, highly experienced and totally self-contained unit that brings fun and energy to any occasion. And rest assured, they dress as authentically vintage as they play!
The Cask Strength Ceilidh Band evokes the true spirit of Scotland’s vibrant traditional music scene. The Glasgow-based trio conveys years of experience and success in the music business through a combination of master musicianship, steadfast professionalism and a duty to provide engaging entertainment for their audiences. Cask Strength will add that special touch to your event: Scottish Wedding, Corporate Dinner, Burns Supper, St Andrew’s Night, Student Ceilidh, Birthday Party, House concert or any other occasion. Guests are guaranteed a good time on the dance floor with the band talking through the steps in a clear and fun way. While the audience relaxes between dances, the band can provide the perfect musical backdrop with a range of traditional songs.
‘MIB Rocks’ (below) is the 4 piece, all male line-up of popular band, MIB, performing rock and pop hits from modern bands like The Killers, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, and older fun tunes from The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, as well as a splattering of 80s from David Bowie, Duran Duran and INXS. MIB have built up an outstanding reputation over the years not only performing all over the country but also in world-wide destinations such as Dubai, Italy, Brussels, France, South Africa, Romania, Egypt….and Kazakhstan! I think it’s safe to say that MIB have truly claimed their title as the biggest function band in the world, after being chosen as the only band to perform to 300,000 people in Hyde Park for the Royal Wedding in 2011.
The Funkin Idiots are a 6 piece Funk/soul and disco cover band based in Dundee. The band have been playing together for 6 years and have gathered an enthusiastic following throughout the country. Fronted by 2 vocalists male and female the band perform funk classics with outstanding 4 part harmonies that fool you into believing you are listening to the record. These experienced musicians have played all around the country for various weddings, corporate functions, parties and large scale high profile events, supporting artists such as Billy Ocean. The band also tour the French Alps once a year bringing the party atmosphere to Après Ski.
