Live wedding bands and acts for hire in Scotland.

Dakota

Having been at a wedding in Scotland last week with no less than 4 different acts on, we were reminded of the vast pool of talent on our doorstep. Here’s a small selection of live wedding bands and acts for hire in Scotland.

Dakota (above) are the ultimate four piece professional live band with the amazing full sound of drums, bass guitar, lead guitar and featuring David Donnelly-Kay on lead vocals. If you enjoy live music with professional musicians and fantastic vocals you will love what they have to offer. Having many years of experience in the music industry allows this band to cover styles including pop, rock and swing. Their vast repertoire covers hits from all eras right through to present day chart hits. This flexible band offers a bespoke service to make your event unique and special to you. This may include song choices, first dance music, ceilidh section and a DJ package if required.

Lewie is a talented singer/guitarist from the Scottish Borders. His virtuoso guitar style, powerful vocals and years of experience of giving audiences exactly what they want makes Lewie’s show unmissable! He regularly tours the UK playing in pubs, clubs, weddings and parties. Lewie travels with a state of the art Bose sound system, portable stage system, impressive lighting rig and collection of thousands of songs from all genres of music.

For a vintage option, try Radio Pachuco. This band came into being in 2011 as the house band for Saturnalia cabaret, an ill-fated production involving some of Scotland’s great performers. As such they had to provide the background music for burlesque acts, feats of hypnosis and even a fakir hammering a nail into his head. Certainly not a squeamish band… However it was the swing music played by the band that attracted most praise. Seeing this the organisers of the cabaret decided to launch Radio Pachuco as an independent product. Since then the band have become increasingly busy, performing regularly at clubs, bars and functions; including the Newhaven Festival 2012, and providing the music for Vintique, an Edinburgh vintage event.

Cheyenne and Seylan
Cheyenne and Seylan

The combination of Cheyenne Brown‘s exuberant and sensitive harp playing, Seylan Baxter‘s mellow, natural singing and her creatively atmospheric cello playing forms rich and varied musical textures with a distinctive style. Whether in slow airs, jigs and reels or traditional songs Cheyenne and Seylan bring precision and empathy to their quirky, innovative arrangements. Their energetic performances and warm stage presence dispel any stereotypes of stuffy instrumentalists and prove the effectiveness of this unusual line-up. Since the release of their debut album 2:forty in autumn 2007, Cheyenne and Seylan have gone from strength to strength. They have performed extensively throughout Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, and most recently a three-week tour across America, as well as throughout Scotland. They also founded and co-organise the Scottish Harp and Cello Festival, now in it’s third year with a high level of success.
