It’s not exactly accurate to say we’re on a recruitment drive here at Freak Music, more a recruitment acceptance as the standard of the UK wedding acts approaching us is extremely high and we’re hearing an awful lot of “my mate told me I should get in touch with you“, which is nice. The Who‘s manager Chris Stamp in the 1960s described it as “WOMP“, which amusingly he said, stood for ‘word of mouth publicity‘. Anyway, trivia lesson over, here’s a few high points we’ve added in the last seven days.
The Moochers (above) are a top end vintage wedding act for hire who hark back to the Jazz Age and the heady days of the 1920s with their unique repertoire of toe-tapping vintage jazz tunes. Lead singer Kitty Kat leads the line as she croons along with her versatile and talented band of musicians performing on clarinet, trumpet and guitar and this sound combines gloriously to send you back through time. Full suited and booted in the style of the day their vast repertoire comprises a huge amount of songs from the era such as Sweet Georgia Brown, Jeepers Creepers, Puttin’ On The Ritz and many more.
Sons of Rhythm (left) are made up of two dynamic versatile and talented musicians with bags of experience both here in the UK and overseas. Having graduated with degrees in music performance Shaun and Henry took off to the South of France where they honed their skills in the sunny delights of Nice, Cannes and Monaco before touring Barcelona and Rome with their unique brand of acoustic covers. Their vast repertoire can be tailored to suit any event in any situation and adapt to the needs of the audience. This pop and rock wedding duo play anything and everything from 60’s pop/rock n roll to present day pop and rock.
HitPinch (right) offer a fantastic live music experience with their own arrangements of classic rock and pop songs. HitPinch blend their unique rock/pop sound into an extensive range of covers taking in tracks such as Billie Jeans, Rolling in the Deep and Sex on Fire. The band are a highly professional female fronted quartet that bring energy and excitement to any event and they boast hugely talented and experienced session musicians.
Dinner Jazz Duo (bottom) are a high quality, sophisticated band that play popular jazz standards by composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Antonio-Carlos Jobim. This piano and double bass live jazz act are both outstanding, highly regarded musicians, and make an ideal accompaniment to a wedding reception, corporate event or private party. They are guaranteed to create the perfect atmosphere for any occasion. Both musicians have a wealth of performing experience and have been the first choice for many of the country’s largest clients, including Manchester United, the Royal Exchange, Center Parcs, the Royal Society, Berkeley Hotel, Radisson Hotel, Canary Wharf and the NEC Birmingham.
