Junction 2

The teeming metropolis that is Birmingham has always been a great place for live bands and as such the live wedding band industry is also teeming with quality. Observe.

With the hottest horn section this side of Memphis and rock steady rhythms to groove to, it’s no surprise that Junction 2 (main pic) is the most revered Soul and Motown revue band of the generation. Their repertoire ranges from classic Soul and Motown from the 60s and 70s right through to modern Soul and Blues incarnations from the 80s, 90s and today stopping off at Otis Redding and The Blues Brothers en route. Available for your wedding, party, corporate bash or festival. Warning: Junction 2 will leave your feet pounding and your head swimming with great sights and sounds!

Celtic Clan is the Irish band that famously doesn’t just do Irish! Perfect for everything from weddings through to corps, garden parties and more – anywhere you need an atmospheric blend of music designed to get people mingling, dancing and having fun. Naturally, they’ve the capability to do full Irish nights (they played Cheltenham Races on St Patrick’s day), but for mixed party nights too, they’re perfect, as their blend of music mixes everything from jigs and reels through to Irish/Celtic pop (like Dexy’s Midnight Runners (Come on Eileen)’ The Proclaimers (500 Miles), The Corrs’ (So Young) Fairytale of New York and others, plus current and vintage pop (Daydream Believer through to Adele), and even a spot of Ceilidh with a caller! The band is hugely popular, and has cornered the market in mixed Irish/English weddings, as well as the above-mentioned functions.

The Thundercats are a completely live, high energy, rock ‘n’ roll power trio guaranteed to get you on your feet and dancing the night away. Playing a set comprising some of the greatest tracks of the last 60 years the Thundercats have performed up and down the country entertaining the masses as they go. The band are perfect for weddings, functions, corporate events but will also do smaller bar & club type gigs. Alongside a healthy list of corporate clients, Glastonbury and other UK festivals, the Thundercats have had the privilege of playing alongside Eliza Doolittle, The Guillemots, Kings of Leon (Aftershow Party in this case) and others…

Paul Rahme (right) has over 15 years’ experience performing either on his own or in bands and with other singer/songwriters. He is fully classically trained but plays mostly by ear. Based in Birmingham he travels to other locations in or around the Midlands to play at wedding ceremonies/receptions, civil partnerships, luncheons, restaurants, corporate occasions, private parties and more. His repertoire covers all genres, including classical, jazz, contemporary, up to the latest pop songs and he can take requests from guests on the night too. In the event that you would like him to play a special song which he does not already know, he will happily learn it prior to the occasion.
