Daygan (right) is a professional mandolin player based in Somerset . He plays traditional music of the ancient Celtic Isles, France and Brittany, some going back to medieval times as well as his own compositions. With the help of a loop pedal Daygan creates a magical musical landscape that sounds like a mandolin orchestra! He gives these ancient tunes his own unique contemporary twist and styling , layering the melodies with textured rhythms and unique counter melodies.

drums or any combination of these musicians. He is one of the most in demand and respected jazz pianists from the Manchester music scene and has been playing with top musicians from the region for the last 20 years. He has accompanied some well know names in jazz such as Wynton Marsalis, Alan Barnes, Dave O’ Higgins, Scott Hamilton, Greg Abate, to name a few. He also once played with Peter Kay who decided to get up and do an impromptu song with Andre’s band at an event.

After more than six years playing with a variety of groups, manager and drummer Richard Trussell started the Royal Valentines (bottom) Based in Torfaen, South Wales, they started out playing at local venues and were soon being contacted by companies for corporate events, and couples for weddings and anniversaries and other events. A real highlight was them being featuring on Made in Cardiff TV, where their performance was played on their prime-time show. The production company enjoyed the music so much that they were asked to perform on another programme!
