As we’ve been mainly recruiting in England and Wales of late, our Scottish wedding band roster hasn’t been growing much and we think we’ve got all top acts up here anyway. Here’s a selection of old favourites of ours.
Corra started life as a Celtic band in 2004 and over the years have evolved into an all encompassing ensemble playing a wide repertoire of soul, funk, rock n roll, disco and contemporary pop tunes without losing their traditional Celtic/Ceilidh roots. This hugely talented band is comprised of some of the countries’ best musicians and vocal performers and can seamlessly switch between all of the above genres keeping your guests on their toes as well as their feet…
The Honey Moons (above) pride themselves on high-energy performances that get partygoers up on the dance floor and keep them there! The standard of musicianship within this band really is second to none. Having an extensive musical repertoire from the 1950s through to modern day floor fillers this band caters for every taste and do it in style. The Honey Moons are the perfect party band for both weddings and corporate events.
If it’s a solo option you’re after then look no further than Hollie Burns (below). She is one of the finest and most popular solo performers the UK has to offer. In 2010 she auditioned for the X Factor and made it to the last 25 in the bootcamp stages. She received four “yes’s” from the judges, a standing ovation from the 3,000 crowd, a huge thumbs up from Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole told her she was her favourite audition of the Glasgow auditions! In 2008, Hollie toured and opened up concerts in front of 7,000 people for Status Quo on their UK tour.
The One White Band are a powerful, high class function band based in Glasgow that provides live music entertainment. They play a huge range of music from old classics like Van Morrison, Queen, Santana, The Eagles and Stevie Wonder to current hits from Snow Patrol, The Killers, Paolo Nutini and The Kings of Leon. The band is a four piece band with drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, vocals, backing vocals and backing tracks and they can add a female singer to expand the sound and range of songs they do.
The Secret Opera Singers (SOS) are an exciting company providing International Opera and Music Theatre Stars masquerading as characters or guests at your Corporate Event, Wedding or Private Party. Imagine your guests’ reaction when a waiter, security guard, chef, or even a guest from one of the tables suddenly gets up and performs with aplomb for his or her stunned audience. Soon the other entertainers join in to wow the audience with a mix of stunning vocals and humour, culminating in a fantastic finale which will leave your guests amazed and buzzing for the rest of the event.
