Freak Music Look Forward to an Exciting New Year

Its been a busy year at Freak Music, we’ve added loads of great bands to our site and started offering our services in the north of England and this year promises to be even busy than the last. By the end of the year we will be offering the entire UK some of the best wedding and function bands around and we are really looking forward to discovering some of the UK’s talent and showcasing it on our site. We wont be forgetting about our Scottish roots however and will continue to find the best bands in Scotland for our customers to choose from and despite Christmas and new year we have still been finding the time to do so. Here’s a few of the latest bands to join Freak Music:

Dennis Alexander’s style follows in the tradition of the great Scottish folk entertainers, where well chosen songs are interspersed with wit, banter and downright lies. His ability to get a whole room ‘joining in’ is his strength and laughter is always one of the main ingredients. However, he can also surprise with an emotional rendition of some beautiful songs. He has an eclectic repertoire drawn from the best of Scots, English, Irish and American songs from traditional to right up to date. And, a great list of parodies to amuse and delight! There really is something here for everyone to enjoy

Dajo Jazz are a musical Jazz Ensemble duo with Jean Baptiste Richon on Piano & Dave Ford on everything else… Dajo play a selection of jazz standards, plus the odd delightful but slightly more obscure tune. Improvisation ebbs & flows between & within the melodies. Excellent for background music at Weddings & Functions, or during cocktail evening, barbeques etc.

Swansong are a four piece female fronted rock, blues and soul covers band. Their high energy performances make them an excellent choice for any event. All members have a wealth of professional experience working in other bands and as session musicians.

Claude Werner has built a reputation playing from the furthest corners of South America, through New York, Barcelona, Paris, Copenhagen, just to name a few. Now He brings his expertise and experience to the north of England.

Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, The Strictly Smokin’ Big Band is now a well established ensemble in the North East, lead by trumpeter Michael Lamb. With a repertoire taking all styles of Jazz and Swing music ranging from Duke Ellington to Gordon Goodwin via Buddy Rich, Bob Mintzer, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
