Band of the week time!

Bondock
Boondock

As I have alluded to a few times in this here very blog, there’s something in the water in Brighton, something unusual. The amount of slightly left of field world music acts we have down there is staggering.

Boondock are a young upbeat folky band specialising in traditional songs from the British Isles and Europe. Although based on the south coast they play extensively around the UK to thrilled audiences. They play an eclectic range of traditional instruments including the accordion, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, tin whistle, balalaika and bones. Yes, bones. As well as English and Irish tunes, they sing a range of old songs in Cornish, Russian, Macedonian and Moravian.  This year the band played across Europe as part of a summer tour stopping off in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany the tour ended with a headline slot in the beautiful Polish mountains of Krkonoše. This year’s highlights also included headlining the Crawley folk festival and the Great Eastern Summer festival in Brighton.

This band are ideal for private events, parties and maybe the more out there wedding…
