Formed in mid-2011 with a desire to break from the norm and create a function band with a real difference; Pete, Paul, and Gav decided to put together a quality show which encompassed all their favourite tracks and artists. The goal was to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary acts whilst providing a set of songs including some well-known standards but also a few special tracks which would make people go “Wow! I haven’t heard that one in years!” Thus Classic Noir was born…
Major Tom are a fresh young function band from Scotland who play a wide variety of music from 50s and 60s rock n’ roll right up to recent chart hits making them the perfect choice for any occasion. They use professional PA and lighting equipment which gives them a clear sound and presence. They also play all of their instruments live and don’t use backing tracks. As a band they take pride in their work and aim to provide you and your guests with a night you will not only enjoy, but remember for years to come. Their varied repertoire is chosen specifically to create the perfect atmosphere, and they are always adding to their set list to incorporate the latest chart hits. In addition, they are also happy to learn the first dance song of your choice for your special day.
Ayrshire’s finest, Magnitude (below) was formed in 2012 when the members of two hardworking duos decided to combine their talents to create an exciting new group. They met when they were playing in two separate functions at the Corinthian in Glasgow. They loved how each other sounded, and after one rehearsal together knew they were onto something special. This four piece band features a power trio rhythm section of guitar, bass and drums from Calvin, Stuart and Jamie with fantastic female lead vocals from Jane and strong male backing vocals from Jamie. This 100% live band always delivers a fun filled evening of high energy dance floor fillers. Their set list contains current pop and rock hits from artists like Bruno Mars, The Killers and Rihanna, along with a mix of classics from every decade stretching back to the 1950’s.
Splendid Gentlemen are a 3 piece wedding/function band comprised of three very splendid, musical gentlemen. Dee McLaren sings and plays guitar, his younger brother Scott McLaren plays drums and sings backing vocals and Craig Johnston completes the line up on bass and backing vocals. The band formed in 2010 and has went from strength to strength from the outset, always aiming to outstrip their previous merits and audience expectations. The bands aims are to deliver a professional and impressive show every time, without exception. The repertoire is aimed to take as many possible audiences as can be thought of in to consideration. Splendid Gentlemen play everything from Buddy Holly to the Black Eyed Peas and are on a constant mission to expand their repertoire to meet any request.
