The band are based in Leeds and frequently play across all of Yorkshire and the North of England.
Trio Latino is a band that plays from an extensive latin and jazz repertoire. Many songs are from the jazz greats like Duke Ellington & Gershwin, and popular Brazilian composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim. This internationally experienced band has a quality in the music that will bring an air of sophistication to any event.
Kiki Sire is the singer & percussionist. A graduate of the Matanzas School of Musica in 1996 where he studied alongside many great Cuban musicians by day and by night performed in the bars, festivals and clubs of Havana, Vaderdero and Mantanzas. He had the pleasure of performing with many great musicians during this time. He made regular appearances on TV and Radio and won many awards and talent contests for his outstanding singing. In 2000 he toured Spain with his band Costa Latina performing with some of Cubas' finest musicians and dancers.
Jiannis Pavlidis is the guitarist, and a graduate of the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He has played on Greek national TV and at many international festivals.
Jiannis holds a position at Leeds College of Music as a lecturer and has performed & recorded with jazz greats such as David Leibman and Adam Nussbaum.
Emlyn Vaughan is the bass player. He is a graduate of Leeds College of Music. Emlyn has recorded and performed for TV and radio, as well as performances at many festivals like Glastonbury and abroad, such as the Ukraine and Germany. Emlyn studied Latin music under Omar Puente, the Cuban violinist renowned maestro currently playing with Courtney Pine. Emlyn has played with many musicians from Cuba and Brazil. Emlyn has performed with Gilad Atzmon, Simon Spillet and Dave O'Higgins.
The trio performs with acoustic guitar, percussion, singing and bass. All the performers have their own equipment, which is of the highest quality and can taylor a bespoke set for each individual event.
