The band is based in Edinburgh and Glasgow and are happy to travel for events.
The Midnight Specials are a Glasgow and Edinburgh based rock & pop musical collective that can configure their repertoire to perfectly suit your requirements.
The repertoire is, to say the least vast. Comprising of classic rock from Chuck Berry and Eddie Cochran and Americana from Creedence Clearwater Revival, (whose song Midnight Special gave them their name) and up to a few recent chart hits from Adele and Pharrell Williams.
Using a pool of about 12 of the very best, original and talented musicians in Scotland who all know each other and work with each other regularly, The Midnight Specials bring true musicianship and genuine performance to your event. The musicians in the band have among other things, won BAFTA's for original music, featured as live performers in a Johnny Depp film and collaborated with the likes of KT Tunstall.
The band are managed exclusively by Freak Music so either click the event quote button up to the right or just call Rebecca or Chloe in the office on 0131 467 2539 to check on availability and please check out their website.
And don't just take our word for it...:
"My wife(!) Kris and I just wanted to send all of you guys a huge thank you for playing for us and our guests at our wedding on Friday. You were absolutely fantastic and helped our perfect day go out with one helluva party!
"The Midnight Specials played for our wedding on Saturday night and from start to finish they were absolutely brilliant. The set list was excellent, their cover of Moondance for our first dance was perfect, and we all loved their take on the ceilidh tunes."
Ben and Sheena
North Berwick wedding
"I can't recommend The Midnight Specials enough, recently hired them for our wedding - every guest commented how good they thought they were. They played fun lively versions of quality rock, pop and soul with talent and musicality that shone through and lit up the evening.
They were also flexible and laid back, agreeing to every suggestion we made. We were particularly taken with the obvious effort they put into getting everyone going, despite us failing to provide much for them to go on. They were even a hit with a number of hard bitten musicians among the guests.
I particularly liked the improvisation they did with 'suspicious minds' and 'Let's work together'. A number of guests asked for their details and me and the wife will go seem them play anytime. If you care about music and wanna party; hire these guys."
John and Kate Brown
21st May, Callander wedding
"The Midnight Specials were absolutely amazing! Everybody was dancing all night and they were able to fulfil our unusual first dance request with only a few moments notice - just brilliant! They were very easy to contact leading up to the wedding, and seemed to know exactly what music our wedding party wanted - I would definitely recommend them to anyone."
Kate Mark
Tyninghame Beach wedding - 5th September 2015
""I wanted to say a big thanks to you and the band for playing at our wedding.... everyone commented on how great your setlist was and the quality of your sound and musicianship. We particularly enjoyed your Harvest Moon rendition as our first song and the memory will last us a lifetime."
Michael Chisolm/Eve Macdonald
5th September 2015
"The Midnight Specials were absolutely fantastic at our wedding. They played a wide variety of music and catered for all our guests, young and young-at-heart! Whether it was ceilidh or more modern tunes, every performance was excellent. They called the ceilidh very well and our guests from overseas really enjoyed the jigs and reels. From the moment they arrived they were so approachable and friendly. We are so happy with our decision to choose the Midnight Specials for our wedding day!!"
Lorna O'Sullivan - 1st August wedding, Glencorse House.
"This band is awesome. They played last weekend for my daughters' wedding and the 170 guests would not let them go. They started with some Highland reels - not the gentle decorous sort; more the wild, animal kind - moving seamlessly into rock. They had something for everyone across all age groups - even the waitresses were dancing by the end. The line up is strong with a great fiddler and a great drummer to back up a superb guitar line up and vocals for all occasions. They judged the mood of the party well and the floor was full all evening. This band plays music that is infectious with a wide ranging repertoire - everyone has fun even those sitting out just listening. I could not recommend them highly enough. For anyone planning a party in Scotland, this band is the one for you."
