About

John McGhee has been entertaining and performing for almost 30 years. Having studied guitar at the Royal Scotish Academy of Music he became an Honours Graduate winning the prestigious guitar prize in his 3rd year of study for his performance.

John plays everything from classical guitar to pop. He has extensive repertiore and varied styles to suit all tastes and age groups. Through his time as a performer he has played in all of Scotland's most prestigious venues including The Cameron House, Turnberry, Crutherland, 1 Devonshire Gardens, (Gordon Ramsey's Amaryllis) ,Richard Branson's Norton House, Dalmeny, Gleneagles, Edinburgh Castle/Fringe festival and numerous prestigious private functions including The Daily Record annual meal, Compaq Computers and various openings of companies etc...

As well as playing in restaurants he has performed at weddings (at the Ceremony, drinks reception, meal etc.) and can arrange any piece of music on an acoustic guitar (within reason), for the couple to enter and leave to.

John also has experience in playing Folk Guitar and has played with many Ceilildh bands over the years as well as electric guitar in classic rock cover bands.

Based in Glasgow. regularly plays across Loch Lomond, Stirling, Aberfoyle, Troon, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Pitlochery, Dumfrieshire, Edinburgh and in and around Scotland
