They crawled from The South...

After triggering an explosion in the U.S. alternative rock scene with the ground-breaking 'Radio Free Europe' in 1981, the following 30 years saw iconic U.S. rock band R.E.M. become one of the biggest selling artists of all time. In addition to spawning over 20 hit singles including the unforgettable classics 'Everybody Hurts', 'Losing My Religion' & 'Shiny Happy People', R.E.M. also had record-breaking chart success with the platinum albums 'Out of Time' & 'Automatic for the People'.

On Wednesday 21 September 2011, lead singer Michael Stipe announced to the world that as a band, R.E.M. had taken to the stage for the final time, asking fans to realise that, 'all things must end.' The band from Athens, Georgia, who had once been hailed as "the recognised vanguard of the new American rock renaissance. The band who virtually single-handedly returned vitality, magic and integrity to the generally discredited corpus of white American rock 'n' roll" (Allan Jones, Melody Maker, 1985), were suddenly no more.

By the evening of Thursday 22 September 2011 one determined R.E.M. disciple was already winging his way back to the U.K. from musical exile in the Arabian Gulf. His mission? To ensure that the genius legacy of R.E.M. would survive. Stipe-clone Steve cREMlin must now reconstruct the fables.....

From his new base in the deepest south of the U.K., cREMlin began to map out his plans to recreate this legendary rock band from the deepest south of the U.S.A....Remarkably, his quest for the U.K.’s answer to the remaining members of R.E.M. - Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Bill Berry - was soon over, and REMember was formed in late November 2011. With the addition of a 5th member to complete the band in early 2012, mission impossible had been accomplished......

......and they are now wasting no time evolving into the world's leading R.E.M. pretender.
