About

Culbeag are a family celtic folk band: Iain McWilliams: Guitar/vocals Lewis McWilliams: Highland Bagpipes Finlay McWilliams: Djembe/Drums.

Iain McWilliams, has played for many years within the Scottish folk/Band scene and has in the past supported such legends as Hamish Imlach and Matt McGuinn. Although his song writing ability led him to sign with London’s Red Bus Records during the eighties, releasing mainstream recordings in Europe and the UK, his roots are very firmly within folk music. With influences such as James Taylor, Gerry Rafferty, John Martyn and Alan Hull, Iain has always set high goals for himself and his crafted songs are passionately presented at a very high standard.

His sons are now following this musical tradition and have honed their skills at major pipe band competitions including the World and European Championships 2008 - 2010. Together they form Culbeag and have enjoyed recent success at numerous folk clubs, functions and celebrations as well as in live sessions for Celtic Music Radio, part of Celtic Connections 2010 and performances at The Glasgow UNESCO Airplay Festival and Perthshire Amber Folk Festival.
