About
Martin Waugh is one of Scotland’s leading jazz vocalists. After attending the distinguished Fiona Duncan vocal jazz workshop and working with his vocal coach Anne Diack, he has become one of the country’s most sought after singers.
Martin has worked with many of Scotland’s finest jazz musicians including Brian Kellock (piano), Paul Harrison (piano), leading horn players Colin Steele (trumpet), Martin Kershaw (alto sax), Konrad Wiszniewski (tenor sax), Brian Sheils (bass), Kenny Ellis (bass) and Tom Gordon (BBC Big Band drummer).
He has also played at some of our finest venues including Gleneagles Hotel, Balmoral Hotel, The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Murrayfield Stadium (in the presence of Prince William) and has sung live on BBC Radio Scotland’s The Jazzhouse.
Martin can change his style to suit the client’s wishes. He can respond to requests for a Sinatra type Rat Pack show with full big band, a trio or duo of musicians - the choice is yours.
You can be sure his smooth but strong vocals will make your event a huge swinging success.
Where are they based?
The band are based in Edinburgh but regularly play throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.
