About
The Trybe dress in traditional pre-1745 Highland garments with 21st Century warrior embellishments. Their music is a full on aural assault led by bagpipes and reinforced by fast, furious tribal drumming and rousing guitar.
The band consists of:
Iain 'Skirlie' McFadden on Highland Bagpipes, Scottish Small Pipes, Low D Whistle and Vocals. Scott Baxter, Guitar, Mandolin and Vocals. Angus McCurrach on Traditional Drums and Percussion
The band repertoire is a mixture of traditional Scottish military marches, jigs and reels played at breakneck speed, mixed in with many familiar surprises and comedy.
Venues and events played at include: Caird Hall, Dundee; Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre; St Andrews Old Course; Tanzania; Scotland First Ministers Nomination Night; The Border Gathering Festival; Marymass Festival, Inverness; Prague International Fringe Festival; Tanzania; Up and coming tours to China and Germany
Despite having played to crowds of 5,000+ the band really enjoy playing for smaller crowds too and love nothing better than getting everyone on their feet rocking and dancing to their wild Pictish anthems.
Where are they based?
The band are based in the Grampians but regularly perform across the rest of Scotland, the UK and Abroad
