About
Lucy Mair was a music scholar at Rossall School, Lancashire and graduated in Music from Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2003. She then went on to study for a post-diploma in Chamber Music with Stella Silva at Benedetto Marcello Conservatiore, Venice.
She studied with Poppy Holden and Agustìn Fernandez at Newcastle University and was awarded an MMus in Performance and Composition in 2010. She is now teaching and performing across the North of England.
In July 2011, Lucy was a bursary student at Dartington International Summer School, participating in masterclasses with Emma Kirkby, Jessie Cash and Nicholas Clapton.
Whilst in London, Lucy sang with the BBC Symphony Chorus, with whom she performed in the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall and in concerts at the Barbican Hall, London, under the direction of some of the world’s most renowned conductors. She has also been involved in radio performances on BBC Radio 3 and a CD recording for Chandos.
As well as singing as a soloist, Lucy is also one half of the Musgrave Duo with guitarist and composer, Jon O’Flaherty.
Where are they based?
Lucy is based in the North East and regularly performs in Newcastle and Hexham has engagements across the North of England.
