Stramash in essence are a Celtic/Folk/Rock Band who have taken well known traditional Scottish songs and Bagpipe tunes, fused them together with rock riffs and rhythms to create the new and exciting genre that is “Tartan Folk ‘N’ Rock”.
Accompanying the traditional aspect Stramash have a wide array of original material ranging from Ballads to Funk to Foot Stompin Ceilidh Sets.
Stramash are determined to push the boundaries within the Folk genre and give it a major shot of adrenaline whilst keeping true to their Scottish roots.
Stramash have been described as Powerful, Energetic, Passionate, Melodic, Witty and quoted as “The most imaginative and exciting Folk band since Runrig”.
Stramash bring something old and something new to the Folk world, their musical style and their individual personalities make them unforgettable to all who encounter them.
Where are they based?
Stramash are based at Headhunter Studios in Kinning Park, Glasgow. They have played and toured throughout Europe, especially Italy, Germany and Spain.
Stramash have also performed in China, USA, Dominican Republic and Russia.
