About the Band

The Hermitage Ensemble is a cello, flute, and piano trio that creates the perfect ambience for your special event They are equally at home playing at large corporate functions, outdoor music events and more intimate private celebrations.

They’ve played all over Scotland, including the Catering in Scotland Excellence Awards and the annual fundraising dinner for the Scottish Federation of Chefs. They make regular appearances at the Leith Festival, always closing the week-long event under Junction Street bridge typically to audiences of more than 350.

In 2007 the Edinburgh Evening News described their music as ‘enthralling’ and ‘sumptuous’

Their main strength is in producing a relaxed and extremely classy atmosphere for social and corporate events. The sound from the different instruments compliment each other perfectly. The piano is the classical accompaniment to the rich and haunting sound of the cello, and the flute adds a wonderful balance to create a superbly rounded sound. The electric piano also allows for harpsichord and organ effects, which are especially suited to wedding services.

They have an extensive repertoire, playing arrangements of movie themes and pop music as well as traditional Scottish, classical, palm court and latin pieces. They are extremely adaptable and will happily discuss their clients’ specific musical requests, ensuring the perfect balance of the right music to go with the event..

Where are they based?

The band are based in Edinburgh but regularly play throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.
