About
Born out of a collective love of Motown and Soul music, Detroit Soul are a highly experienced function band comprising some of the finest soul musicians from around the world.
Masters of their instruments, they bring a fresh feel to classic Soul, Motown and Funk songs. A nine piece band combining two of the UK’s finest vocalists, a tight funky rhythm section, explosive brass and smooth four-part vocal harmonies, Detroit Soul deliver scintillating floor-filling hits from the first tune to the last.
Detroit Soul are one of the UK’s hottest soul bands, with a huge repertoire consisting primarily of Tamla Motown, classic Soul and Funk. No matter what the occasion, Detroit Soul will have your guests dancing from beginning to end and will ensure that everyone goes home with a smile on their face.
Regular performers at Jools Hollands’s “The Jam House” in Birmingham and also Dover Street Wine Bar in London, the band have years of experience and regularly play at some of the top venues throughout the UK and abroad. They have played alongside some of the biggest names in soul music - including The Drifters and Martha Reeves.
Detroit Soul provide their own PA System and lighting rig which can be tailored to suit any venue from 10 to 10,000 people, along with professional sound and lighting engineers to ensure everything runs smoothly and sounds great. All of the equipment is PAT-tested to industry standard Health and Safety Regulations, and the band is covered by £10 million of Public Liability Insurance.
Everything you hear is played live by top musicians – there are no backing tracks or pre-recorded music. Detroit Soul take great pride in creating a fantastic live show every night.
Where are they based?
The band are comprised of professional session musicians around the UK from London, Manchester and Birmingham. They perform regularly at high profile events, especially in London and Birmingham but will travel anywhere in the UK.
