Vintage Wedding Fairs in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Vintage Fair
Vintage Fair season again

Freak Music are proud and delighted to be supplying the music for the Scottish Vintage wedding fairs again this autumn.

We started yesterday in the Cowdray Hall in Aberdeen and while wandering amongst the cake bakers, dressmakers, photography services and crockery hire you could hear three of our top vintage acts playing over the day.

Peter Katona
Peter Katona

First up was Peter Katona who performs jazz, latin standards and pop songs. The uniqueness of his performance is his ability to play the walking bass and harmonies accompaniment with his guitar on top of singing and scat improvising. Great stuff.

Radio Pachuco
Radio Pachuco

Next up were an Edinburgh based swing/jazz act, Radio Pachuco came into being in 2011 as the house band for Saturnalia cabaret, an ill-fated production involving some of Scotland’s great performers. As such they had to provide the background music for burlesque acts, feats of hypnosis and even a fakir hammering a nail into his head. Interesting. I was especially amused to hear them play the Cantina Theme from Star Wars to close both sets. I did take me a minute to place it though.

The Midnight Specials
The Midnight Specials

Last up were another Edinburgh based band the Midnight Specials.  These guys are a rock & pop musical troupe that can configure themselves in size and repertoire to perfectly suit your requirements. You might want the full 5 piece band with ceilidh option to rock the house or you may just need a solo or duo to play in a more laid back and contained setting, either way, The Midnight Specials have got it covered! Comprising of the very best, original and talented musicians in Scotland, The Midnight Specials bring true musicianship and genuine performance to your door. The musicians in the band have won BAFTA’s for original music, featured as live performers in Johnny Depp films and collaborated with the likes of KT Tunstall.

We’re supplying the acts for the next few weeks too:

Sunday 20th October, Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh, 11am – 4pm

Sunday 27th October, Trades Hall, Glasgow, 12noon – 5pm

There’ll be more bands and suppliers at these obviously and a mere £5 entrance fee, and you can even meet a couple of Freaks.
