The live wedding bands for hire in the UK through Freak Music section has been added to quite a bit over the last few months, here’s a few in no particular order:
It had to happen, the Retrosettes are so overwhelmed with work they had to bud like yeast and form the The Retrosettes Sister Band (above) have been formed due to the success of The Retrosettes. Both bands have a vintage sound that is difficult to find from any other live act in the region. The Sister Band play all the same songs as The Retrosettes but with a sassy, soulful female vocalist. Singer Helen comes from a Jazz background the same as Paul from The Retrosettes and both singers have a love of Funk, Soul and Northern Soul. The musicians in both bands have been friends for years, Paul and Helen are actually a couple! Both Retrosettes bands together are like one big retro family!! The Retrosettes are a vintage band that make new songs sound old and old songs sound retro. Chic and cool, they take popular songs currently in the charts and classic songs we all know and give them the Retrosettes treatment. Their influences are very varied including Motown and Northern soul, Funk, Jazz, New Orleans Rhythm and Blues and Reggae. The vintage sound is created with instruments from the 60s and 70s and played with a love of classic music from that period.
Herbie are a professional Wedding and Function Acoustic Duo. Performing stripped-down arrangements of some of your favourite songs from the 50’s to present day, there is a beauty in the simplicity of vocals accompanied by an acoustic guitar. With a repertoire ranging from laid back to lively Herbie are the perfect choice for playing a bride down the aisle, entertaining guests during a lazy sunny afternoon, providing background music for functions or for warming up your guests ready for the DJ! Herbie are also available for evening sets with livelier sets designed to get your guests up and dancing!
Focusing solely on the traditional New Orleans Jazz style, Silk Street Jazz (right) perform classic early jazz such as Bix Beiderbecke, King Oliver and Louis Armstrong as well as all the jazz standards. They are perfect for foreground or background music to help create an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The band formed back in 2003 as a new generation of early jazz band. The ensemble contains today’s young up-and-coming players, all of whom continue to revitalise the scene with their flair, excitement and enthusiasm.
The Fontains are a popular three piece wedding and function band from the North East of England that play a stellar set of songs from the bands of yesterday and today. The talented trio provide excellent entertainment with a professional service, using only high end equipment. These three likeable lads play a set that goes as far back as The Beatles and The Jam, stops off at the likes of Oasis, Blur and Pulp and carries on right up to today’s biggest bands like The Kings of Leon, The Killers and Mumford and Sons. Adding to this classic tracks by the likes of Elvis, Tina Turner and Otis Redding the boys are able to provide a night of live music sure to have everyone up on the dance floor, be them young or old. With a vast number of weddings and a range of functions under their belts The Fontains are confident they are the band you and your event. Their professional and helpful attitude will help things run smoothly before the show while great showmanship and musical ability will get things moving during the show.
