Are we really half way through January? Ah, well onwards we go and we’ve had a mighty slew of wedding bands and acts get in touch over the festive period asking to be included in the sizeable roster, here’s a totally non-scientific selection of a few recent additions.
Known locally as the Scottish King of Swing, Paul Ellis (above) delights his audiences with the hits from the wonderful era of the Big Band. His international reputation has been built up over 25 years of performing in many countries across Europe and Africa from solo performances up to big band, from intimate piano bars to private parties to exclusive villas and on even on the odd yacht.
Whatever the event, Paul will always deliver a fantastic night of swing and jazz – from Sinatra to Nat King Cole and more. He is a very talented reader of audiences and tailors the show to ensure everyone is entertained. His show always delivers a lot of toe-tapping, dancing, singing along, sometimes a few tears and a lot of laughter – and all delivered by the experienced and talented performed with a genuine love for what he does.
Maria Camahort (right) is a London based classical guitarist, ensemble leader, composer and teacher. She graduated with a distinction in MMus Performance from the Guildhall School of Music, and awarded with the Guildhall Artist Fellowship 2010-12. Her exceptional knowledge of her instrument and her devotion towards chamber music and collaborative projects have given her the opportunity to perform in a great variety of genres, settings and contexts.
Her solo repertoire includes Baroque, Classical, Latin influenced, jazz influenced, Spanish and contemporary music. She can also present acts with other instrumentalists. Duos with soprano, flute, violin, cello, etc. Trios with strings, quartets, etc. She also can offer two particular projects (trio and quintet) of a mixture between Classical and Spanish traditional music.
The Jukebox Project (below left) are a London wedding band consisting of 5 professional musicians who have all graduated from the Institute Of Contemporary Music Performance. The band pride themselves on their professionalism and attitude towards making each client’s event truly special and unique. All Night Long (bottom) are a top end covers band who provide a non-stop show, mixing up rock, soul, disco and chart music so a full is dance-floor guaranteed! Their set list is kept current and modern to include the latest chart hits. This repertoire takes in such musical luminaries as The Beatles, Luther Vandross, Van Morrison and Daft Punk and stopping off at all points in between. When you book this band you can guarantee you are truly booking performers of the highest calibre who bring to this act the standard required and experience gained from playing with some of the biggest names in music across the UK and abroad.
