Welcome to the weekly round up of a handful of our live wedding bands and acts for hire in Scotland. Some old, some not so:

Whether you like to boogie to some vintage 60s tunes, disco to 70s funk and soul, slow dance to some 80’s slush, or club it like you’re back in the 90s and 00s, Classic Noir (above) are the band for your event, and can call on a host of songs from the last half century to suit any occasion. Formed in mid 2011 with a desire to break from the norm and create a function band with a real difference; Pete, Diane, Paul, and Gav decided to put together a quality show which encompassed all their favourite tracks and artists. The goal was to bridge the gap between classic and contemporary acts whilst providing a set of songs including some well known standards but also a few special tracks which would make people go “Wow! I haven’t heard that one in years!” Thus Classic Noir was born. The search began to find the remaining musicians required to turn concept into reality. It didn’t take long before they had found themselves Jodie and Andy; a couple of super talented, highly qualified musicians which completed the 6 piece outfit consisting of dual male and female lead vocals, lead and rhythm guitar, bass and drums/percussion.

Brian Kelly is a self contained solo act playing all the classic songs with his self produced backing tracks. Along with singing, he is an excellent lead guitarist with more than twenty years experience of playing live. Brian is more than capable of getting the party started! Brian has a long list of covers that will appeal to all age groups along with audience interaction will make a night a memorable one. With a repertoire that extends from Adele to U2 and calling at all stops in between, you’re sure to find something to dance to in his set.

Funkeilidh are a Fife based versatile Ceilidh Band with Fun & Funk built in. Not content with pure Ceilidh music all the time, Funkeilidh can play a number of cover versions, quick steps & slow numbers to break things up & give your guests a break & a chance to gossip. If you’re a Ceilidh purist though, they’ve never run out of dances yet & can give you a purely Scottish evening. Just let them know. They also have a smattering of dances from Sweden, Bavaria, Israel & France to delight those who want to see what goes on elsewhere. & then there’s the Glasgow Kiss, not quite sure where they picked up this wonderful little dance (Glasgow perhaps?), but it’s one they always need to teach so it levels the seasoned & tentative dancers.

Jay Faichney (above right) is one of the UK’s finest Pianist/Vocalists. He has been a full-time professional musician for fourteen years and is renowned for his live performance which is always stylish, entertaining and memorable, creating a fantastic atmosphere for any venue or event. Jay also has vast experience in wedding entertainment and is an excellent choice for your background music or entertainment during a champagne drinks reception. So whether it’s a piano bar, a hotel, a music venue, wedding or any function or event, Jay is the perfect choice and he is always the consummate professional.
