UK tribute acts just flowing like a river on to the Freak site (geddit?)

Ska Madness
Ska Madness

For reasons unknown, and if you have any theories let me know, but we’ve been snowed under with UK tribute bands in the last few months especially 80s tributes. As someone who is of a vintage that can vividly recall the decade I find this particularly superb however, no Smiths act have as yet have come out the musical woodwork.  Here’s a bijou selection of the most recent acts to knock on the Freak Music door, as it were.

The nutty boys are back in town! Madness and their Ska brethren redefined music in the 80’s, with classic songs, boundless energy and an attitude to match! Now Ska Madness (above) brings you back to those days – the music, the magic, the Madness… This is a show that jumps out and grabs you by the scruff of the neck. Featuring all your favourite Madness tracks, like House Of Fun, It Must Be Love and Our House, as well as hits from other iconic Ska bands, like The Specials and Bad Manners. So put on your Baggy Trousers, come along and Enjoy Yourself… it’s later than you think!

Reflex 80s
Reflex 80s

Reflex The 80s, (left) are, unsurprisingly an 80s tribute act with a fantastic repertoire of classics from this much aligned decade. This takes in big haired rockers such as Van Halen and Journey as well as Norwegian pretty boys A-HA and pop legend George Michael. This highly experienced quartet have played with some big acts themselves over there years such as Aswad, Katrina and the Waves and more.

Just Gary Barlow (bottom) offers the ultimate tribute to the music of Gary Barlow and Take That. The act performs all of the hits from both Gary Barlow’s solo career as well as Take That songs including Back For Good, Pray, Relight my fire and coming all the way up to the present day with tunes such as Patience, Let me go and Rule the world. With over 20 years of performing under his belt, Just Gary Barlow is a great choice for a night of 90s nostalgia.

Explosive Light Orchestra
Explosive Light Orchestra

Explosive Light Orchestra (ExpLO) (right) are the Worlds Ultimate Tribute to Jeff Lynne’s ELO. The band were a massive progressive rock group formed in the early 70’s by inspirational songwriter Jeff Lynne. ELO were a perfect fusion of classical strings and rock and roll and were known for their incredible rock songs, hauntingly beautiful ballads, as well as explorations into disco!
