London wedding bands and acts

Ahh, London. I love it, it’s like my favourite type of woman, big, fast and dirty. Needless to say there are about a gazillion wedding bands there and here are a few of our favourites:

The Flaming Ties, (aka the Flying Ties and their ties do sort of fly) are a female fronted quirky quartet with a uniquely sassy sparkle. Their style is borne out of a desire to bring the rhythms of Latin, jive and swing to an extensive rock & pop repertoire. And check out their version of 7 nation army. Glorious.

As a Scottish based, but national company we naturally have a lot of Ceilidh bands on the roster but this is not solely a north of the border affair, we do have a few in the south and the Wraggle Taggle Ceilidh band were quite proud to be the first London based act on the books. You’re welcome.

Bellissima (pictured) have been doing their classy thing for over 7 years and have racked up some pretty name-droppable clients along the way including Coutts Banks and probably the only person in London richer  than Coutts, Roman Abramovich. This lot are capable of filling any dance-floor put in front of them but also can break down in to a two piece for some laid back grooves…

If you want a totally off the wall act on your special day then I give you Gumbo La La. These guys conjure up the spirit of the 1940s and 1950s by reimagining the sounds of honky tonk, R&B and zydeco music. Taking inspiration from the songs of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Big Joe Turner, Hank Williams Sr, The Carter Family and Clifton Chenier, Gumbo La La take an old sound – detailed harmonies, accordion, fiddle, double bass, and acoustic guitar – and make it new.
