We’re delighted to become an official entertainment supplier for Dornoch Castle. Dornoch Castle is a fascinating 15th C Castle and tower sitting in the middle of the pretty and busy little village of Dornoch on the north east coast of Sutherland.
The Castle is family owned and run by the Thompson family ~ Colin, Ros and their sons Simon and Philip.
Since taking over the hotel in June of 2000 and enjoying the rush of publicity which Madonna and Guy’s wedding produced, all of their energies have been taken up with renovations and improvements to this ancient building and walled gardens whilst retaining its character.
There are now 25 high quality rooms. 10 of which are in the oldest part of the castle and feature several four posters. Our two ultra superior rooms are in the oldest tower and feature hand carved furniture, four posters, spa baths and working fireplaces. Needless to say Champagne Breaks are very popular in those rooms.
The Castle has a rosette restaurant and excellent food features strongly in their remit.
Simon and Philip, the two Thompson sons, have created a bespoke whisky website for those who want to buy exclusive malts to appreciate or to have as an investment for the future. www.whiskymaltshop.com . They are happy to give advice on the many malts to be found in our bar.
Dornoch Castle is very popular for weddings and functions and we’re pruod that they are now recommending Freak Music for the organization of the entertainment. Dornoch Castle sits across the pretty square from our lovely Cathedral so weddings really have it easy here.
