New tributes act on the books at Freak Music

Theme Machine

The tribute act section continues to grow apace on the Freak roster, here’s a few of the most recent recruits.

Michael Bublé is undoubtedly one of the most revered international superstars in the world and has the accolade of being one of the most successful performers of all time. Now one of Europe’s most respected entertainers, Mike Hyde brings to life his voice, presence and performance, with a show full of the energy, enthusiasm and humour that has made Michael Bublé a household name. Performing all of your favourite Bublé hits, such as Home, Haven’t Met You Yet, Feeling Good and his iconic version of Cry Me A River. Also available with a mix of Rat Pack, Jazz Standards & Contemporary songs, you’re sure to be dancing, swinging and swaying right through the night. Mike can appear as a solo act, with a duo or trio, or with full live band.

For larger venues, and, let’s face it, budgets, Theme Machine (above) boldly go where no band has gone before. Playing the sexiest film and TV themes from the 60’s to the present day in their own inimitable way. A heady mix of some of the best session musicians in the country which gives you a full five piece rhythm section, six butt-kicking horns, one top female vocalist and two backing singers. Clothed in the cool of Miami Vice and oozing the comic charisma of 007 himself, they take to the stage to perform epic movie themes such as Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Footloose, James Bond and Rocky as well as some of the most memorable foot-tapping TV hits of the period. Theme Machine is more than the ultimate live function band. It is a full visual show including lighting, projection and the razzle dazzle of the red carpet. Follow the main event with a party set of cover songs, from Motown and soul through to present day rock and pop, guaranteed to keep any audience dancing all night.

A rather Scottish-centric bunch these guys, Scottish Rain (below) present a tribute to the Legends of Scottish Music. The show includes the hits from five decades of some of the most iconic and unforgettable Scottish pop & rock stars, such as Texas, Deacon Blue, The Proclaimers, Del Amitri, Alex Harvey, Runrig, KT Tunstall, The Fratellis, Simple Minds, Paolo Nutini, The Bay City Rollers, Gerry Rafferty, Nazareth, Pilot, Wet Wet Wet, The Bluebells, Travis, Danny Wilson, Frankie Miller, The Marmalade, Aztec Camera, Hue and Cry, The Corries, Rod Stewart, to name but a few. (Look at their set list and see how many great songs and bands you recognise.) This makes Scottish Rain a tribute act like no other. Rather than a single artist, the band pays homage to the legacy of some of the best bands the UK has ever produced. It just so happens that they are all Scottish…

The Long Tall Beatles are a first class tribute to, funnily enough, The Beatles based in the north of England who look and sound fantastic. This act will entertain young and old alike and are guaranteed to ignite the party with classic costumes and authentic instruments. Relive all the classics as The Long Tall Beatles take you on a trip from mop-top to rooftop. Available for weddings, private parties, hotels, corporate events, music events and holiday resorts. Whether you’re organising a public or private event, The Long Tall Beatles – with their ultimate Beatles experience – can tailor an evening to suit you. (PS. The name, while being a play on a Beatles song obviously, was chosen as three of them are over six feet tall…)
