The duo are based in the city of Edinburgh, but are able to perform in and around the city as well as surroundings cities.
Sonore are a new music duo based in Edinburgh, consisting of Theodora Burrows (soprano) and Katie Davies (piano). They have a varied repertoire, ranging from early to contemporary, classical to jazz and also perform original arrangements and compositions. The duo are available to perform during wedding ceremonies and events in and around Edinburgh.
Theodora began classical singing at a very early age and is now an accomplished performer. She is currently a member of the Edinburgh festival chorus during the International Festival at the Edinburgh Usher Hall and will be performing as "Mercedes" in the Edinburgh Studio Opera's production of Bizet's "Carmen". Theodora has had great success in as both a soloist and a member of choirs in festivals throughout the UK. Theodora's repertoire is versatile including operatic arias, songs from the shows and has a love for traditional folk songs.
Primarily an educator and community musician, Katie works as a private piano and music theory teacher and is an associate musician of Drake Music Scotland. Katie also works as a composer and arranger of 70s/80s funk music for local bands. Katie gained her BA(Hons) in Music from Durham University in 2012 where she developed her contemporary style of composition. Katie's repertoire as a pianist is diverse, but has a particular love for Romantic pieces.
