The Band are based in London and frequently play in the South-East of London.
Op Sa! are a fiery bunch of musicians who use the roots of the Serbian Kolo and the Turkish Čoček to create their own passionate brand of Balkan music. With repertoire from Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and the Romani Balkan culture alongside a growing anthology of original songs, Op Sa! have that rare ‘wild beat,’ and they are bound to show you how to party!
Op Sa! started as a project with musicians Stefan Melovski (guitar) and Maša Mujic (clarinet), and the band slowly expanded into its present 11-piece form, with the aid of a full 5-piece brass section, a tenor saxophone, one more clarinet, and one more electric guitar with drums. The band started off with a bang, collaborating with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Southbank Centre, as well as creating its fan base at venues such as Jamboree (Limehouse), Hootananny (Brixton), and Magic Garden (Battersea). The band have also collaborated on a 2013 recording with well-respected Balkan producers Gypsy Hill.
