The band is based in London and regularly plays in Greater London and the Home Counties.
Formed in 2005, South London based big band King Groovy and the Horn Stars features the traditional big band line-up of five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, a rhythm section of piano, drums, bass and guitar and a sensational female vocalist.
Notable London appearances by the band include the Southbank Centre, the 100 Club, Jive Party at the beautiful Rivoli Ballroom, burlesque nightspot The Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club and hot jazz venue The Hideaway in Streatham. The band has also played for wedding receptions at The Guildhall, Wilton's Music Hall and the 20th Century Theatre. Further afield, the band plays for numerous charity balls, parties, weddings, functions and festivals.
The band covers a wide range of music from swing classics through to Latin, jazz, funk and pop favourites. For a wedding, 1940s dance night, Christmas party, celebration or corporate event, the set list is tailored to suit your requirements. Whatever the occasion, the Horn Stars guarantee good music and a great atmosphere.
