About the Band
After Jason "Jay" Kay (born Jason Cheetham) auditioned unsuccessfully to be the singer of the The Brand New Heavies, he decided to put together his own band. Jamiroquai's first single, When You Gonna Learn?, was released in 1992 on the Acid Jazz label. Following its success, Kay signed an eight-album record deal with Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The band enjoys worldwide popularity and is the best-known member of the early-1990s London-based acid jazz movement, alongside groups such as Incognito, The Brand New Heavies, Galliano and Corduroy. Jamiroquai has since, however, moved in other musical directions. The tribute act put on a stunning show covering the music that Jay Kay has written throughout his 15 year career at the top.
The tribute band's lead, Mac Star, is also a hat and car lover. During shows he loves to wear a trademark hat, and he has lots of very expensive sports cars, like Ferrari. Just like the man. Obviously.
The name "Jamiroquai" is derived from the Native American Iroquois tribe, with which Kay has said he identifies philosophically, combined with 'Jam', as in musical jamming.
An evening with Jamirrorquai is a great way to relax. You can dance, sing or just tap your foot to your favourite songs. You are always going to want more although the two hour set caters for fans of earlier and later releases. Relive the funk, enjoy the dirty rhythms and dance to the disco melodies with Jamirrorquai. Their aim is to bring the magic of Jamiroquai to as many people as possible.

The band are based in Prestonpans near Edinburgh but regularly play across Scotland and the rest of the UK
