About this Act

James Aconley is a professional cabaret entertainer based in North Yorkshire, specialising in high quality vocal entertainment for functions, private parties, weddings, corporate events, hotels and restaurants and any other occasion or venue. He uses the very best professional audio equipment and music to give your venue and event the highest possible quality sound it deserves. His various entertainment packages include songs from the shows, swing classics, pop songs from the 60s to the present day, party classics and much more. Whether James is booked with his standard cabaret show, or one of his themed shows ‘An Evening of Musicals’, ‘The Kings of Swing’ or ‘When I Fall In Love’, he guarantees an evening of great entertainment at all his events.

James has worked in many aspects of the entertainment industry, including summer seasons, variety, pantomime, musicals, cabaret and performing live in concert. One major highlight of his career so far was performing at The Club for Acts and Actors (formerly The Concert Artistes Association) in London’s West End in October 2007. He has performed in theatres across the region, primarily Scarborough Spa Theatre and Scarborough YMCA Theatre, allowing him to perform with stars such as The Bachelors, Andy Eastwood and many others. James appeared in Disney’s Beauty And The Beast as Lumiere at Scarborough YMCA Theatre in Summer 2010.

James has been producing and directing, as well as appearing in, his own theatre shows since 2009 with NAP Music Productions. The Magic of the Musicals has been presented every year since 2009 at Scarborough YMCA Theatre, featuring highlights from some of the world’s greatest musicals. He also produced An Evening with James Aconley in September 2010 and February 2011 at St Martin’s Church in Scarborough to raise money for Church funds and James Aconley in Concert at Queen Street Methodist Central Hall in Scarborough. Most recently, James has produced a North Yorkshire Tour in 2012 called Simply Musicals in Concert and a summer season at Europe’s largest Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Open Air Theatre, called Sunshine Showtime.

To ensure the greatest safety and peace of mind for his clients and venues, James carries £10 million of Public Liability Insurance cover as required by many UK venues, and all his equipment is PAT safety tested annually with a current certificate. He is also a member of Equity, the UK trade union for the entertainment industry, reflecting on his professional attitude and commitment.
